alternate jack stand points.

Post by Bludge » Wed Apr 03, 2013 7:38 pm

I cant get to the standard jacking points due to the aftermarket side skirts, and they have been moulded to the car so will be a nightmare to get off im thinking.

I need to bleed the brakes so is there anywhere else i can put jack stands to safely keep the car up while i am underneath it?

Cheers.

Towing eye bit if you can reach it, or possibly place something across/between two strong points to spread the load, then jack.

EDIT, didn't read properly  No idea about stands.

I use front and rear towing eyes for jacking up.

I then put the axle stands under the subframes.

Same here, right where the mounting bolts are, solid as a rock.

another good strong place to jack on or place stands is the anti rollbar d bush clamps that attach the roll bar to the subframe.

Right, i had to jack up the car recently and found what i thought to be the safest points, can you guys just confirm that my car isnt going to fold in half if i have to do it again? lol.

this is where i jacked from (initially where the bolts are until i had enough space to get the stands under the car)

Is that the front towing eye?

And this is where i put the stands.
