I use a cheap cigarette socket powered pump but rely on my handheld digital pressure guage for accuracy. I do not trust pumps at garages etc.. You dont know when they were last calibrated. Not a huge deal for a raod car but for my track tyres I need consistent readings.
Plus I love not needing 50p's just to pump up tyres.

I got one of these with some xmas monies
Ring Automotive RAC630 12 V Automatic Digital Compressor with LED Light
It's a bit quirky but does the job very well. It's accurate and inflates the tyres very quickly. Plus it's nice that it just inflates to the correct pressure and stops automatically.

That is basically the same one I have but my one is so old and battered that the pressure cut off no longer works, the guage is innacurate, but it still pumps!

I have a Sealey one.
It is robust, but it tends to ping fuses if you don't turn the radio off first.

I just got the one judderod recommend, not used it yet but said it inflates a tire in 3 mins, my little cheap on took about 20

All the talk about it made me go out and do the prelude tyres in the snow. Was nice to be able to just sit in the warm car until I could hear the pump trip out when it got to the right pressure! I used to have one of those cheap ones too but this one is so much better trust me you won't regret it

cheers for all the replies

i do like the look of that ring one and the stuff I've had of theirs in the past has always been reasonable. Looks like a good price too so Im definitely tempted.
