I failed my last MOT for worn drivers seat belt - had to replace it with a good 2nd hand unit . Took under 20 mins to replace the part so easy to do yourself.
i wouldnt waste any time thinking Honda will replace them foc - ive never heard of anyone actually doing this in the UK - might be different in USA tho.

Damm shame is has expired, I will pop in to my local dealer in the week and ask though, just sprayed them with some dash shine and they retract back better now, wonder how long will last though

I remember reading somewhere that fully extending them and letting them retract like a hundered times works

My passenger side one isn't fully retracting, I might try that. Is there no way to open them up and lubricate them? Just what causes them to stop retracting?

In my case it was the actual belt that had started to stick a bit and then it started to wear in one particular area - you should be ok with just a little bit of wear but once it starts wearing its time to start looking for replacement belts - i tried putting clear varnish on the damaged area but it didnt work out - mind u the garage had flagged it up as an advisory on the mot so i was warned.
I think it was the belt butler that did it!

If anythings not working properly I usually spray copious amounts of WD40 on it, it works for everything..
