Lude Generation

Hi all, given my ludes been off the road for 3 years and that it had done 70K before being sorned the disks look a little rusty and the pads are goosed. The hubs 4 stud as she is a 2ltr just now but fully intend replacing that with H22 of some type, so any suggestions as to what disks and pads to go for, balance of cash over performance I suppose.

Well instead of buying a set of discs now and a set when you get the H22, why not save a brake conversion, 282mm discs and callipers to match or the 300mm euro R and type R discs and calipers,

I'd buy blueprint discs and upgrade the pads.

As above with the brake upgrade, blueprint stuff is good, also bremtech stuff from brake parts intl on the net I found quite good, but avoid drilled discs. Pads will depend on what you're doing with the car, if it's just going to be road use standard stuff for rear is fine (blueprint etc), and for the front again blueprint etc or slight upgrade to black Diamond predator/hawk hp pads. I had good braking with BD predator pads on the road, and wasn't until track days when they become a bit less adequate. I wouldn't go for ds2500/hawk hp+ type pads unless you're going on track as I found they need a little warming up to work really well and not much point on a road car.

Also would be a good time to get some decent brake fluid in the car. If it's been stood for a while its probably worth flushing it with fluid as well.

I only know from a 4th gen point of view but I upgraded from 260mm to the vtecs 282mm calipers. Straight swap didn't even need the carriers that hold the calipers. So I'd imagine you can straight swap with the vtec version, but I'm unsure on what exactly you need from the accord R

i would recommend brembo oem disks and pads front and back - should cost you around £125 delivered for all four corners - can probably help you get them fitted as well
