Squaeking front brakes while driving

There is some really annoying squaeking noise coming from the front brakes while driving (it doesn't squaek while braking). It started to appear after I changed the front pads. I suspect that cheap pads could be an issue (but surprisingly it doesn't squaek while braking). Calipers are working fine.
What do you reckon? Should I start with more expensive pads or should I change front discs as well?

new pads can squeak, should go away
you could try taking them out apply some more copper grease

But it only happens while I'm driving without even touching the brake pedal. They don't squeak when I press the pedal.
I've changed my pads approx 1 month ago. I thought this noise will dissapear, but it doesn't.
I have checked the pads. There is no rubbish/rust/tiny stones stuck between the pad and the disc.

I had exactly the same problem with my type r. Changed the pads twice because of it. I changed them on gravel so the only thing I could think of was that there was grit or a small stone stuck between them?

Did you find the problem after all?

Sounds like the pad is dragging on the disc to me, it will stop when you apply pressure because the squeak is actually a tiny vibration of the pad. As was suggested above, copper grease on the back of the pads and make sure your pistons are corroded stopping the pads releasing from the disc properly.

Thanks, I'll try that.

cooper grease the end of the pads as well, where they slide into caliper carrier.

had my front pads changed about a month ago as well, and also noticed a slight squeak the other day, it seems to have stopped after a few days though...

The brakes on my Xsara squeak, so I changed the discs and pads. The pads were down to the metal
They still squeak though. I think it's just an additional punishment for owning a Citroen
Not sure what's going wrong for you guys though! I have heard that if cheap pads are used the brake dust can get trapped on them causing squealing. I bought Ferrodo's though which had a channel for the dust, so that point could well be moot.
