Hi all my lude is out of mot and this is first time for putting it thru had a check of most things an it all looks ok everything working except handbrake was too many clicks so i have tightened cable inside to get it down to four clicks but since its a auto an never taken much notice of how good handbrake is i now think it doesnt hold too well if you have it in drive on idle it almost pulls forward so any advise as i dont think tightening cable any more will make it better plus really worried something else is bound to be wrong with this car :(

If an auto is in gear it will always pull forward slightly even if you set the idle to 700rpm

Oil leak should just be an advisory, mine was leaking a lot of oil but it passed. i would have thought your rear lights would be ok as they arent really dark. i got a set of chrome lights the other day so if you need a spare set to put on for the mot let me know.

paul, if your lights are tinted over the reflectors, you need to stick some temporary ones on the bumper or by the lights,

also with rear brakes, your better off resetting the calipers.

1, release the handbrake and slacken cables back off in car.
2, remove caliper from carrier and wind the piston back in anti-clockwise.
3, wind out the piston a quarter of a turn clockwise, this will expand the piston slightly and reset the cam for the handbrake inside the caliper, make sure the raised lug on the pad is able to be located in the cross slot of the piston.
4, flatten the braking surface of the pads using a piece of sand paper on a flat surface to remove any glazing of the pad and refit the pads to the carrier. ensure the 2 slidders are moving freely too, refit caliper.
5 pump brake pedal 20-30 times
6, operate the handbrake up and down with the button pressed in at least 20 times.

you should then have a reset hand brake.

oil leak is an advisory.

window tint on all rear windows no fail.

25% tint ok on front side windows

sunstrip is a fail, but only if the wipers hit it. you could fit smaller wipers, but not too small as this could then fail for the wipers not effectively clearing enough screen area.
