BIG ISSUES IN LITTLE JAPAN

Right where do I start, I'm a little annoyed, I was going to do my cv boot and messed up the track rod end as it was rusted I also saw the lower ball joint and that to has so much rust that the locking pin is just bending, on further inspection the manifold exhaust is rusted and looks like someone attempted paste, my thoughts are this the only reason I got this prelude was my French peugeot was giving me a hard time engine wise, so engine wise this prelude is smooth n fine but rest it rusted I only paid 250 and its got MOT till next year and my insurance is due next month do I A. Sell both peugeot and honda B. sell peugeot keep honda but not spend any more money on it till it does so I just scrap it or C. Sell honda keep peugeot I just want car that will keep going but little money I don't really want to replace parts on this like I did my peugeot and realise I will never get my money back I know I will have to replace the track rod end as it been messed up but I won't replace nothing else and drive it till it goes I advertised it at 495 and yet not a single call so I take it no one will be interested so no point throwing more money at it engine wise it is smooth so that's a plus point, so guys what are you opinions thank you

Usually there is a reason a car is 250 sheets.

I know Donald I'm shocked but thinking I might run it till it does engine wise its ok so it's just the cv boot ripped and the load of rust but that problem with 4G, I still want it but don't fancy spending money on it as I know its only worth minimum amount possible

if the engine runs smooth then your laughing surely? theres not much in the way of underneath a lude that will need replacing in regular intervals so if somethings failing its probably because its never had any attention, £250 for a lude is CHEAP so surely you can justify spending abit on it to get it back to a rock solid reliable motor that most ludes are? and on that point there are PLENTY of ludes being broken, you could just replace with second hand parts all the way for a fraction of the cost and hassle of trying to replace parts on a french blah mobile
as donald said, cheap cars are cheap for a reason, surely you expected this sort of thing when you parted with such a small amount of cash?

the bits your unhappy with are the least expensive bits to buy and the easiest to replace and also just because a track rod end is rusty doesn't mean its failed they get the worst treatment because of were they are situated if you lived under the car I bet even you would be rusty

You spent £250 on a sports coupe with a years MOT and you expected to not have to spend any money on it and have cheap motoring. I fear you have missed an important lesson in motoring somewhere. Maybe its the french car thing. Not to worry..
you gotta spend decent money (>1500£) on a decent car and it costs you 200-700 a year to keep in in good nick and maintained.
If you spend less than £500 you either drive it into the ground or start on all the bits the last three owners couldnt be bothered with and spend spend spend.
There is no middle ground. there is no happy place where premium cars cost nothing to drive. There is no cake and eat it.

I can't justify the amount of time and money I've put into mine but pretty sure I and everyone on here do it for love of the car. Weigh up wether you think its worth it for your needs, but rust can always be treated espesh bolt on bits can always be replaced for cheap. IMO as long as your shell isnt rotten and falling apart then crack on with it fellar

Omg, thank you guys for making me see sence, I am going to replace the parts that are important and need replacing, I will order track rod end, I have put a new back box in, so is a Japanese car which is reliable better than French heap of beep, but I taken out the track rod end, what else will need to be removed for me to release the drive shaft thanks guys

Why did you remove the track rod end??? There is no need to, go look at the manual as advised. It really is a simple job.
1. remove spindle nut (the one on the end of the driveshaft inside the wheel)
2. remove damper fork
3. split bottom balljoint
4. remove driveshaft.
5. Go have a cuppa.
Oh 5 is optional.
