Halogen and HID projectors are very different. Its the reflector bowl inside the projector. In a Halogen projector the light is focused in one place so the reflector aims them this way. In a HID projetors the light is very intense so the reflector bowl is aimed to sprea the light wide apart. Both types are helps by the lense to widen the beam
HID in a halogen projectors have hot spots and uneven cut off. Cebul used Halogen reflectors in this IIRC. Ideally you need the HID projectors. Which i have spare. :D

well you can put HID in halogen projectors if the fit,

not as bad as hid in reflectors, still not right thing to do tho
