Mine too has arrived.

1) It's much smaller that I expected.
2) It's much louder than you'd expect from it's size, with good bass.

Should do nicely as a campsite background at Le Mans 8-)

Did you not use the little rubber mat to prevent this happening?!

If you peel the clear cover off the base, it has grippy stuff built in 8-)

That too, although the sticker in the middle raises the whole unit up so the grippy stuff doesn't get very good contact!

The postman tried to deliver mine at the weekend whilst I was away. Finally got around to collecting it today and am very impressed indeed! Thanks for the recommendation Indigolemon. :)
Obviously no substitute for a full stereo set up, but a small individual speaker was never expected to be. I expected a decent sound following other reviews but certainly didn't expect the quality to be quite as good as it is. For £14 it is a very good buy indeed. Perfect for chilling outside with, or for background music when using the laptop working.
Mine came with a little square rubber mat so doesn't move anywhere regardless of volume.

it can also be used with a 3.5mm jack, and has a lead that comes with it. I have used this for my laptop. My phone paired via Bluetooth but couldn't find the speaker using the laptop.

not even firewood mate. in the trade anyway. As garden speakers they will 'do a job' but they sound like a squirrel getting squeezed through a mangle. thats the piezo horns. Nothing better to destroy music than piezos. The amp will also be about as inefficient as it could be. Used/had to use skytec over the years and its a basttard to get it sounding like it has any life in it. Those cabs prob cost £12 to make all in. the best thing on them from my point of view is the corner protectors

Buy second hand always. A pair of bookends in plastic bags and an amp inside the house does great as a garden stereo. or get an old boombox, a real one. That'll do you better quality sound. Something plays lower than 70hz with some dynamic range and you suddenly remember why music shouldn't be played on tiny transducers.

Unless skytec have upped their game tenfold but the inclusion of the spinning light dome on the speaker doesn't bode well.

IMHO. I am a PA guy and an audio snob where super budget kit is concerned so take it with a pinch.
