None of us are suggesting it's in anyway quality 'art' or story telling that's for sure, but it continues to get the modded car scene (incl. specifically jap) on the big screen

which nothing else I can think of does? And is just good mindless fun...

I dont disagree they highlight the modified car scene at all. I would disagree they shine a positive light on it though. Criminals, hookers, robberies, fights, dangerous driving, dissing the po-lice.
