I went through many a rover before I found the prelude, and the 620ti was a decent car. I think I picked mine up for 200quid with 4 new tyres and a new clutch.
A 30quid boost controller valve removed the gradual boost build profile and just gave you loads of torque. It was quick. Gearbox died not long after. The buyer told me some weeks later the diff actually sheared in half.
Fun times lol.
