I used to have one on my Type-S..

When I used to do a lot of motorway journeys (London-Birmingham) I used to put it on the bonnet. Cleaned the bonnet before and after I took it off. And it actually used to prevent stonechips on fast motorways. But if you use it on a daily then it will scratch up your bonnet like that pic above.

So get one.. Use it only when you do long motorway journeys.
