hahahahaha! nearly pissed myself with the family guy clip!
Some great work Asif, really good paint correction going on there. I've got all the kit and been reading tonnes of articles and guides on machine polishing so can't wait to get into it myself. Used to love the paint restoration work my uncle did to cars, especially the old red (faded pink) cars. Great to see the shine and lack of swirl marks when its done well.

Musashi, thanks dude
You said it the before looks crap and really un loved and then you see the finish result and its like hard work has paid off and the person who see`s it after you is like woah its like painted new but its just bin given some good treatment to bring it back to life. Get a decent rotary and a da to finish it off and thats you sorted mate. Wa kit you using bro ? Anything exciting..im in to new products not old skool BUT i do tend to bring out the old skool gear when its needed to show the car much extra love if the new kids on the block dont do the job.

Very nice, those wheels and brakes look mint as well.
I just grabbed a budget Silverline rotary from Amazon, they are mean to be alright for occasional use, so should be fine while I train myself up. Also got some 3M polishing and light cutting pads and Autoglym Super Resin Polish. The plan is to be cautious and only try to remove swirl marks and light scratches to being with, nothing deeper. Should also help blend chip repairs when I get around to it!
I read through this article a while ago and found lots of useful tips and advice: Machine Polishing @ Detailing World
I've had a couple of guys recommend using a DA to finish and make sure you get no holograms, although the detailing guide above says as long as you are using a polishing / finishing pad with a very fine polish and working it till its fully broken down you shouldn't end up with any holograms. I guess its just easier doing this with a DA with less chance of mistakes?
