Red H badge on 5th Gen?

Post by thebigpi » Sun Jan 26, 2014 9:08 pm

Hi guys,

Picked up my JDM 5th Gen off another guy on the forum yesterday and am delighted with it! It's a great car to drive and apart from having to replace the battery today, it all seems to be running nicely.

I'm planning on putting the red H emblem on the front and rear and have had a look on ebay and can't seem to find the right one. Do I need to buy the one that fits the Integra Type R or the Accord Type R?

Also, as I only got one key with the car, I'll need to get a spare cut - will this one be okay?

The red emblem is specific to type R's. As there was never a type R Lude it is not protocol to fit one to them :ugeek:

Fit one if you dare go against the Prelude hierarchy

Don't bother, look gay as window. And as Macky said, they were only put on Type R's.....and there's no such thing as a Prelude Type R. Plus the red always fades after a few months.

Up to you but the only way to do it is with genuine badges. The ones on eBay will be fakes that are more pink than red

Intention was to get OEM badges from a different Honda to match my JDM red interior but apparently it's not a good idea so guess I'll be sticking with the originals now!

Any ideas on the key?

Key should be fine.

Do what you want mate, there are dos and don'ts I suppose but it's your car and you're the only one that has to like it. IMO there are far worse things you could do than a red badge

Nothing wrong with red badges imo. On a white lude they look good. If you get them go for the ep3 badges. They won't fade. I had them before I debadged.

My steering wheel has the red badge (ep3 wheel). Suit the interior well.

Welcome to the fold.

Everything re: Badges has already been said. You don't need Type R. You are Prelude. Enough.
