how real does carbon wrap look when lacquered?

Right, im after any eye witness accounts of carbon wrap having been lacquered.

I have a couple if cheeky plans but carbon wrap does not at all look like carbon imho. its a personal thing and i recognise that not eveyone has my view of carbon wrap but i just dont think it looks right. there is no 3d definition, no angle of visual absorption and no engagement. it just loks like a textured sticker :?

But. i have heard that if you lacquer it you can get a much better effect. a much more 'real' look.

is this correct? its subjective but what do you think?

How does not work?

a little research has shown that 3M and a pro sprayshop should be able to knock out a rather lifelike alternative.

well we tried few different carbon wraps with lacquer on top and result was not as expected.

if you get carbon wrap with deep 3D pattern then this might be possible.

best is cut bit of wrap and apply lacquer and see what you think

I would use the 3M di noc stuff as its got a 'real' pattern.
Or the Pro wrapping company would be :D

If you warmed the area you want painted with a lamp for a while before you spray it would coat nicely and get into all the bleeds i would have thought :?: . a couple of decent coats then a few hours with 2000g paper and then a good 4 stage polish is what im thinking. the boot and some other bits im not sure i trust the security of a real carbon boot :?
