Aligning my nostrils

Well, those of the car.

As you may be able to see from the pic below, there's an alignment issue with the left, driver's side, nostril and bumper around that area.

I can't see anything wrong, or bent or anything under the bonnet, but nor can I work out how to correct this. I tried loosening the bolts that hold that side of the bumper on then jacking it up and tightening, but it made no difference.

In things like this, I always say to myself that I'm not the only person in the world this has happened to. So maybe in the Collective that is LG, someone might proffer advice?

Cheers m'dears.

A.

The nostril is attached to a plastic support by 4 8mm bolts, you can undo them (if not siezed) and there is a bit of adjustment there, also you can adjust the plastic support itself (which bolts onto the bumper support bar) for further scope.

OK ta. But do you also see that the top of the bumper doesn't line up well with the edge of the bonnet?

You'll have to start adjusting the bumper support bar to get that right, the bolts can be accessed by removing the front indicators, and there is another bolt on each side behind the headlights. You'll also have to adjust the headlights by the look of it too.

I tried adjusting the bumper support bar bolts, no difference. I'm thinking a bit of fabrication in the form of a small rod to push that part of the top of the bumper/nostril up.

You think the headlights look out? They could well be. I bet thats a pig to do?

BTW I see you're in the lead for Lude of the Month! I voted for yours - I always admire folk who can keep a black car looking good! Its a great colour but shows up every mark. After my former black Lude I vowed I'd never have another black car!

Having done mine only yesterday, yes it's a pig.

Yes, make sure the bonnet is spot on first (with the wings). Then adjust the headlights to fit the bonnet. Then the bumper to fit the lights, finally doing the nostrils.

To get my bumper up a bit, I slackened the support bolts, grabbed the bar from near the bonnet catch and lifted it, also lifting the car slightly I put that much into it, then with the other hand tightened the bolts.

The nostrils look to be more or less symmetrical in regard to the bumper.
I'd say that the bonnet is slightly out of kilter. What are its shut lines like down the sides at back towards the windscreen? It may even have a slight twist to it.

They always will, as they sit on a bracket that is attached to it.
