Jdm import aero

Right guys, wasn't sure where to put this post so I've stuck it here (mods feel free to move it if you wish). For a while now I've been looking at importing some aero parts for my accord but so far haven't really been serious. To cut a long story short I've now been forced to order them due to my Exhaust giving up and having to be replaced in the very near future.

I've been in touch with various importers around the uk (none of whom were particularly helpful) and have been on most of the japanese auction websites (again not particularly helpful) and it's become apparent the the parts I require are readily available, cheap and in fairly decent condition. However, it looks as though shipping is going to be my biggest expense and none of the auction websites can give me so much as a clue as to how expensive. The importers in the uk are much the same way, they say I'm looking at a few hundred quid per large item but nothing more detailed.

To be honest I don't really mind paying a little more than normal as I expected this buying such an unusual car. The problem is without any info on the shipping I can't budget for anything. I don't know if it will be cheaper to buy everything at once and have it all shipped together or if it's going to be really expensive buy things separately to spread the cost.

I think what I'm looking for is a service where I can just tell somebody what I want and they can just give me a price for the items delivered to my door. Is there a service out there like this ? Is there any one on here who is in the business of importing parts or has done so in the past that might be able to help ? Any help, advice, ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You can purchase items on Yahoo Japan auctions using either the built in link - Buyee or using a third party car / parts importer like Nengun. I've used Nengun a couple of times now and as long as you log in and give a guess at the shipping weight / dimensions you can get an approximate all in price there and then to put a bid on. They firm the price up afterwards - I got a £20 refund on an item once they firmed it up.

I also asked about multiple purchases to ship as one and they are more than willing to do that. Send them a message, they're in Japan but they're English speaking / writing. Can't recommend them enough.

correct. I also now have a contact in japan itself and a guy this side who ships stuff through his dads company so can bump items through and also avoid some size & weight infringements :jdm:

not that I have any cash to import a single nut or bolt atm  but if anyone wants a quote on something then pm me anytime :)
