Protecting my 4th gen from rust

My new 4th gen has very clean arches. One arch is totally rust free the other has a couple of very small bits, mainly contained to the arch lip. I plan on treating this with some anti rust stuff. I just want to slow it down for the moment, when the time comes I will replace the arch with one from that group buy, but it is no minor at the moment it doesn't seem worth it, and besides I can't spare the cash at the moment.
Also, what is the best way of protecting the arches. Apparently it has been undersealed before, definitely on the sills. How do I get anti rust stuff between the 2 skins of the arches? Possible or not? If it is I would like to try, even if as I say it just slows things down.

possible - you can remove the side interior trim from the back seat area and get some anti rust cavity wax - i and others have used bilt hamber dynax stuff as it has a long 360 degree reach nozzell so you can it right into the arch. I think you can also get some wax into there from the boot.

Excellent, I have ordered some dynax S50, which bits of trim do I need to remove in order to get to the arches. Any guides or pics?

Remove the side boot linings to get at the top/back of the arches.
To get these out you need to lift out the boot floor and take off the lining that runs across the back (between the rear lights/under the boot sill).
Remove the rear quarter lower trim panels from in the cabin (need to remove the rear squabs and backs first) and then unbolt the seatbelts and (gently!) peel back the splash guards, in order to access the front of the inside of the arches.

Thanks. When you say gently peel back, do the splash guards and linings I am going to disturb by doing this easily go back into place or do they need to be stuck into place somehow?

Use the Dynax S50 spray lance and literally soak the whole inner arch. SPray the whole can if you need to per arch. You want the Dynax S50 to seep out of the seems. Make sure you clean inside the arch 1st.
Most interior panels justs pop out of have self rivets.

What tools will I need to remove the necessary trim from the interior and boot in order to gain access to the rear arches?

Nothing. Just pull them off In the boot. You might need to remove rear seats to get quarter panels out but with a long lance you can go through the boot.

Hi Ratty, you are most helpful and I am very impressed with this forum
So with the lance on the dynax S50, will I get as far as I need to by accessing the arches through the boot? Where should I expect to see the wax coming out, on the outside of the car?
