Never tried to wash it off TBH - I expect it might though as it is a waterbased gun cleaner we use. I usually put 2 cross coats on with about 15 mins flash off between. I have never tried building up light coats.
Ratty is probably the man to answer that as I think that is one of the techniques they use in small repairs?
Don't be fooled into thinking 'cos it is waterbased it is safe to breathe. It still has a solvent content and a fair amount of it still has isocynates in it. Wear a mask, gloves and goggles to spray it and preferably disposable white overalls.
It gets into you through your skin, eyes and mouth so cover those and you will be fine
This will keep you safe for short term usage http://www.toolstop.co.uk/index.php?opt ... edium=base

Yer as vti2003 said its still solvent.
With the paint we use PPG waterbased we go on with light coats, heavy coats tend to change the tone especially with silvers and metallics.
I actually go one semi wet and i dry it off with a heatgun at 450deg c blowing across the panel, takes around 30seconds to dry this way and then apply another coat.
Some colours take 30coats if they have tones of pearl in and are low hiding.
Silvers i ALWAYS go on light and covers in about 4 coats. I sometimes dontuse much thinner on larger areas so the paint is thicker. I do whole panels this way too.
Once the colour is on and dry water will mark it and stain it and paint thinners is required to remove it. Once its baked off for 10mins at 60degrees C is pretty hard to remove.
Between the paint and the lacquer though keep it dry.
You will need a waterbased takk rag and not a solvent one.
With my White diamond pearl Prelude for example. Respraying most of that myself, needs 5 coats of ground coat and 3 coats of pearl midtone and followed by a semi wet grip coat of lacquer and then a full on thick wet one.
I use a waterbased gun wash for the guns followed by paint thinners to fully clean the gun out.
Still cant beat a good 2 pac paint though, just a shame the solvents arnt ideal in this day and age.

Nope only standard colours-mostly black left. Will ask then if they can do a paint mix. I need some PG as well.

Asked about mixing colours to order and they said no
They said to contact Refinishing Services in Edinburgh so will call them on Monday and see what they say. Whats the code for phantom grey again - my door check says R 81 (Milano Red)
