Lude Generation

Hi all, need a bit of advice concerning the removal of paving stone dust as 2 guys turned up on Saturday to replace a few slabs in my neighbors garden after some electrical work had been carried out. I was in my back garden and heard the cutter but thought nothing of it until I looked out the kitchen window and saw them cutting slabs right in front of my baby If I knew how to post picture/vid on here I do it but

Anyway. Sent firm an email with video and picture, they replied with an apology and said they will pay for the cleaning only local guy at car wash said I need to take it to a body shop to get it washed off correctly? Said that grit will eat your paint for yonks unless it's washed off? So, do you guys agree. Is it more of a problem than just a wash and polish? Guy reckons £50 maybe £75.00 to have it done.

Hmm..
I had this from an inconsiderate neighbor about 6 months ago with my daily drive, and it came right off with a standard wash from one of those carwashes staffed entirely by benefit claimants - the key is getting it done straight away, don't let it sit there for days..

I found this thread on a Honda S2000 forum if it helps, but I think the guy that will probably be able to give you the best advice is probably @RattyMcClelland.

Dust from concrete and plaster etc can have lime or some acidic components in them and and can eat into the laquer/paint
Like Doug says the key is getting it off asap

Give it a good detail. Clay and polish. Do it now.

It needs a thorough was down before anything else. £50.00 for thorough was down and showroom polish. Sound about right?

sounds right to me - some companies would charge more
hope it goes well - you never know it might end up looking better than before it got all dusted up

£50 is very cheap. I charge 3 times that. For a wash n full polish.

Yeah but washing cars in the nude always costs more

Company sounds like a right bunch of willies saying they'd only pay for a cleaning.

I have both neighbours (either side of me) doing house work...

Car is filthy as fook.

Should I be worried.?
