RATLUDE......Thoughts folks??

Right so no doubt majority of folks will think I'm utterly insane..... But I am a huge fan of the Rat-look! Having always had cars on finance until now, I have never been able to rat one of my motors.

Basically it comes down to this...... I can't afford to respray the Lude, I can't afford to wrap the Lude and no amount of T-cut is going to bring back the color so why not have some fun??

I was planning on buying some ' rusty paint ' and doing it tastefully around the edges of the doors, wings etc etc then sitting it on its arse with camber kinda euro style. It would definitely be different.

Now here the clincher, rumours having it are that with these cars becoming rarer and rarer especially my engine the JDM F22a, it could be worth a fair old whack in 3-4 years or so. Any truth in this or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I have always been one to be different and go against the grain but at the sane time I don't want to potentially wreck something that could be worth an amount in the future. I suppose on the face of it I could always respray it before selling in the future when money is better??

Thoughts and feelings guys? Im still learning about these motors so all is new to me, especially when it comes down to value etc.

Cheers - Feel free to mock my utter insanity. XD

:)

Personally just no.

The 'rat' look is the in thing currently it seems. That and being really low. To the point where you can't actually enjoy driving....
So to do this although it would be different amongst the Prelude owners, it would be very scene.

The car would only be worth any money if it was maintained thoroughly in my opinion. So your money for the rust paint would be better spent on a load of under seal to protect the car. Otherwise you'll have the genuine rust look for free in no time. Getting the car properly serviced and any issues sorted. Old bushing, worn joints, engine issues, etc.

However that's my personal opinion.
Do what makes you happy. Otherwise what's the point. Your car. Your money. You may as well smile while driving it :D I know mine makes me grin all the time.

My thoughts are to shove it up your anal orifice but I am too much of a gentleman to say so.

Actually couldn't say it any better than prahunt already has, tbh - summed it up perfectly.

And yep, the F22b is a very rare engine in ludes.

Do it. The car will never be worth enough money in the future to prevent you having fun with it now. If you were talking about a car worth more than 5k? maybe its worth second guessing yourself. In this situation its just your car and it will NEVER be worth 5k again so why worry?

Its an old honda. There are still loads of them about so again, why not?.. Leave off the stupid suspension mods so its still good to drive but go to town on the bodywork. flapper sanding wheel on the grinder, nail some bottle caps down the B pillar and give one wing a couple hundred taps with a small hammer etc. Why the hell not?

Driving cars should be fun so go have some.

Haha and there's that middle lone split :)

Well don't get me wrong a rat for Me is still looked after. For me it's extremely important to look after the engine and the underside of the car etc.

There is no point in having a motor I can't use. I love this car and want to keep it as long as possible so protecting it is key.

But I do want some fun along the way.
