Water leak

Post by gordonlear » Sun Apr 29, 2012 7:57 pm

I seem to have water coming into my car next to the rear passengers seat, I have removed the pillar panel and have checked around the window but can not find any leaks, I have also looked at the sunroof seals and they look okay. Any ideas?

What about those plastic strip things that run along the length of the roof at the side? :?

Does the 5g have a washer jet above the rear window? That's a common place on 4g's

you need to pull off the plastics. it is prob as I.L. says and the washer pipe has come adrift. otherwise you will be able to see where its coming from. there is not much behind there so you should be ok. the plastics just need a good tug by the mounting points. pull up a corner and feel for the push clips.

the rubber strips are covering the rain channels. these do not lead into the car.

like others have said it will be the washer jet hose leaking or water coming in from the top through from around the jet itself - you can fix the jet with a bit of silicone on both sides. you may want to take the interior out the back and have a look down into the rear arches from inside the car - spray some dynax anti rust cavity wax in there to stop any rotting around the arches and sills
