Window bottom trim - Driver's side

Hi all,
As you can see, the door trim on the driver's side is somewhat mankey.

Is it a question of buying new 'tape' (I can see an obvious lip along the bottom edge) and sticking it on or does this mean a whole new fitment including the metal bar it sits on? :?
I've looked through Ling's site and, if I'm looking right, it's a case of 'this part no longer exists'. :x
Any advice would be welcome. Thanks as ever, Si.

dont think ive ever heard of anyone refurbing one of these window trims before - ive replaced the drivers side one on my BB1 with a second hand part in good condition and this what most folk do. they do come up for sale now and again and go for around £30-£35 a side. its quite a difficult job to remove them without breaking most of the clips. ;)

My trim on my 5th Gen was looking a bit rough so I covered mine in black vinyl wrap 8-)
Mine wasn't damagedat the end like your's though , not seen that before :(
Good luck with your repair matey :D

vinyl wrap is a good idea - maybe 5th gen ones are easier to take off and put back on :)
most of the 4th gen ones ive seen have chunks missing out of them and are beyond repair :x

Thanks fellas, much appreciated info. I'll put the feelers out here and see if I can get hold of a good quality used 'rail'. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again. ;)
