It's a genuine Honda fuel cap holder. It is supplied on Preludes in other markets, but not within the UK, for some odd bizarre reason, even though the Prelude fuel filler door has mounting points for the part. According to my 2003 Honda EPC, it is also supplied with the Accord, Accord Coupé, Civic Coupé, Legend, MR-V, Odyssey & S2000.

The Honda part number is: 74423-SZ3-003 and costs only £5.69 from a Honda dealer.

Can any owners of JDM or USDM Preludes confirm they have this part as standard?

I've always wondered whether something should be there 'cos of the unused mounting points of the fuel filler door. Also, I can vaguely remember reading something about it in the user manual, but I might be wrong there.

I managed to get the part number by using http://www.honda-parts-catalog.com, so it must be a USDM standard part. I'm curious as to whether it is also JDM too.

Ah fantastic! I always wondered why there wasn't one when there was obviously a space for it and missed having one as my old (1994) Beemer had one.

I'll have to ring Honda and get one methinks.

It wasn't standard on my Type-S. In fact, I think it was this original post that made me go and get one

Hmm, odd, they seem to be working again right now.

Not for me.

I've never seen them, but you have so they're probably still cached and that's why it seems fine for you? I think that's how it works anyway.

And Nitin probably looked at something naughty and cleared his browsing history since then :? :P
