only the ones retrofitted with a 5g glass roof no factory glass roofs

Bad times, I was thinking it might be ideal as glass can't rust

how hard is the retrofit??
It's the same dealio if I wanted a glass roof in my Golf, I'd need one from a mk 3, it's pretty involved though as you cut most of the roof out from each car and weld it back in

no its not as hard as you may think basically you just remove the metal roof and replace it with the glass one but you have to use the 5g shims to set it level there is a how to somewhere

Might have to hunt that one down as my sunroof is bubbling, if it's coming out for repair at some point might as well put a glass one back in when the time comes

Will head over to PUK now

Not a major deal if just fitting the glass, bit if you want to keep the slider from the 5th too, you need to install the whole thing rather than just the panel, so its a bit more involved, ie metal cutting etc.

Oh right so the glass roof won't slide back on the 4g mechanism then?

Yes it will, you can just swap the metal panel for the glass one, but there is a sliding shade with the 5th, which you can choose to fit or not. I didn't bother as I like the extra light and its a lot simpler.
