ok i changed my sunroof yesterday, and found my old sunroof sitting on 2 shims on one corner while 2 front corners were on 1 shim each and the final corner had none :? what do these shims do exactly and how do i know i have the correct amount under each corner for my new roof? i simply replaced them where they came, is this right or would a new roof require different amount or distrution of said shims :?

i can press down on the sunroof and it moves slightly, but the old one did the same, should this be so? or does it need to be sitting tight (no noticable movement)

They are exactly that - shims, to level the panel in the opening. Dont fret too much that it has a different number in each corner, make sure all the other fixings are tight then just use the shims to level up.

When I fitted my CF sunroof I had to get some extra washers to act as shims as it didn't sit the same.
Thats the worst part of fitting a sunroof. Getting everything lined up again

i did mine wrong, i replaced the front and back edges (which screws on) first instead of the sides, this wouldnt seem to much of a problem till i tried to refit the lining which goes under the rear edge, but the rear is now got the side pieces bolted ontop of them and the lining needed the corners cut slightly to get it back in. i could have just removed the sunroof and started again but im lazy

but on the upside i did find holes in my old sunroof after i removed it and pocked around with a screw driver :o  strangley 2 holes at oposite sides, very symetrical :?
