Where to find a small amount of soft edge masking tape?

Post by lewd lude lover » Wed Aug 01, 2018 3:15 pm

I'm after about three feet of soft edge masking tape for a headlight mod I want to try. All I can find is like 50m of the stuff and I'v never needed it yet ad I cant see me needing it in the future much...

So where can I get just a couple of feet from? The bendy foam stuff with the sticky.

Any ideas guys?

Use masking tape and fold it over. The more soft you want the edge the more overlap you need to use. Here is an example picture that i found on google. Ive used this a lot in the past as my dad was a sprayer and said it was what they used to do back in the day. It has really good results.

Yeah thats perfect for long lines but I want to make quite tight curves.

I have decided to go another route as it goes. More hassle but a better finish. Update coming.

I use 3m smooth transition tape however for tight curves its not great but creates an invisible line.
I also use 3m soft edge tape for tight curves but doesn't create a true invisible lineas the glue on the tape sticks to thepaint creating a soft line.
