I need new plates for the Type S as the ones Torque GT supplied have let moisture in somehow.

What are peoples opinions on borders and logos on plates or is it best to keep them totally plain? It is hard to judge without seeing in the flesh......

I got a new plate for mine recently, and just went with plain on plain!

borders looks a bit dated, logos are a no go as far as I'm concerned...

I think it looks quite neat without logos and borders so I've left it all out. Got mines from Demon Plates.

Yeah, logos and borders are soooo last decade! ;)

Less is more ;)

Just remember, being an import you can go for smaller motorbike size font. 65mm tall as aposed to 85mm tall if I remember correctly 8)

I have the standard Japanese/Import size on my cat at the moment but I think I can go a bit smaller if I wanted.

No you cant use the Motorbike plates on imports. Too small a font. Cars have to use the standard size font.
I researched this to death as the front plate on the S660 is too big.

The smallest legal size you can buy is 300mm x 156mm. It must have an 11mm margin and display the BS code and maker postcode.

This is Torque GTs 330mm x 162mm plate.

I put 300mm x 156mm and i then cut the sides down as c lose to the BS code as possible. This is legal.

Keep it clean. No borders or pictures. Just the reg number and the 2 small codes.

It doesn't matter about the plate size Ratty. It's the font and margin/space size that's important.

Pretty sure import is 64mm tall, 44mm wide, 10mm margins and spaces. 30mm between groups.

I've double checked this every time I've bought a new plate, just incase the laws have changed, so they must have changed it in the last two years if it's different now.

Here you go. It's not an official document (It's harder to search this stuff on a phone), but this is what mine abides by...

I have seen it on an official dvla site in the past as well.

Yes those sizes are too small.

Download the PDF and near the bottom it says about sizing. It doesn't mention imports but that means UK rules apply just on a square plate.
