I've got some patches of laqueer peel on my front bumper, the car is going in the bodyshop in a few months. But can I wet sand it back and re-laqueer it just for now?

Should be fine for a temporary job if you are careful not to go throught the basecoat.
Sand it, spray it and then give it a quick buff. Happy Days!

Absolutely.
Use wet Scotchbrite pads to feather the edges.
Choose a dry day & warm the aresole in water to get max spray pressure.
A few even coats & a very light flat when dry.

Wet sand the edge with 2000 wet and dry minimum so the new lacquer hides those scratches the 2000 makes.

Lacquer.
as long as its not a metallic you should be ok. you edges will be a little rough to polish but it will cover the worst. get some pics up...
