repairing carbon fibre laquer

Picked up a carbon bonnet last night.
and its was a REAL squeeze getting it in the back of a 4x4.
3 of us managed to get it in... just
only had 2 of us trying to remove it and unfortunately it got slightly caught on one of the door pillars and chipped a little bit of the laquer off the bonnet.
Whats the best way to go about repairing this?
It's gone through to the weave so I'm guessing moisture will get in if its left.

If it's gone through the the weave then it'll be the resin that's chipped. IMO, best bet is to sand it back a little then re-resin it and then sand back down through the a 2000 grit then some rubbing compound

& can I get it from somewhere like halfords or somewhere like that? save me having to order it off the net?

That's the site I get all of my supplies from.
You can get epoxy resin in halfords in a small syringe for about 5 quid. Best bet is to get the slower drying stuff as you have time to get all of the bubbles out of the resin before you apply it. You'll need some good quality sand paper too, I use this;

If you want to send me a couple quid I can send you a sheet of each? I have 120, 240, 400, 800, 1200 & 2000 grit.

I would say sort that chip as soon as possible
in order to stop water getting in under the resin
my bonnet is shagged from, chips, water sun damage etc.. looks really bad but its only a £100 bonnet so not too worried

The bonnets sitting safe in the garage at the moment bud.
That's why I want to get it repaired before I fit it. To stop it from getting water damaged

imo get a clear lacquer pen from halfrauds and layer it up. much easier to control ans build it up as you want. I did this and it worked ok.
