Evening chaps,
After some superb advice and helpful direction I have now resprayed my alloys with reasonable results and my front and rear lip (motegi) however I have this little issue which thanks to the courier  I now have to deal with.

So the question is can I fix this myself and if so how? or do I go down the route of de-locking it.
thanks in advance for any input

Remove the lock and sand the rust out and respray the whole boot. Put lock back in.

You can paint that back in with rattle cans, just depends on how good you are with rattle cans really

Try it, if it works, huzzah, if you gentleman's sausage it up, you'll just be back at square 1, but at least with the rust protected.

take the spoiler off and use the hidden area beneth to hide your paint line.

Or just pick the worst out with an awl (pointy thing) and touch up. this will be ok for a couple of years at least.

I'm thinking about doing just the same thing. Delock, debadge etc you can still open the boot from the inside of the car and it may be possible to get a boot opener on your alarm (if you have one of course!).
