this happened about a month ago now...
Pretty sure its a boot from a drunk. Don't know if they thought the door would open after a hard kick, thankfully they didn't carry on trying.
Got a quote a couple of weeks ago from a local bodyshop for £700 inc VAT for a repair and respray. dammit!
Does that sound fair? Seems like loads! £387 for labour, £185 for paint.
Going to shop around a couple more bodyshops, but if i can't get it a lot lower then i might have to look at getting a replacement door. really didn't have time for this jobby!
damn drunks.

Ah that sucks
£700 sounds about right, they will probably spray that whole side.

Years ago, I owned a Citroen ZX Volcane and bent a door in a car park. I was quoted hundreds of pounds to get it fixed. It was cheaper to get a replacement door off a breaking car and get it fitted. Simples.

I had a feeling you guys would say something like that.
they said they'd spray my front bumper at the same time for £150

This was also done while it was parked, someone kindly cutting the corner a bit and underestimated the length of a prelude's nose.
AND, if i do all the prep then they can spray my full motegi kit for £200.
a lot of work, and a few decisions to make!

this could be the answer.
i quite like doing jobs myself, but as always its a question of time.
i could even consider getting/borrowing a door (in any colour) which would give me time to repair mine. but then i suppose i'd never get the paint to match, hence the professionals spraying most of the whole side.
think it's got to be either cough up for the repair, or find a door in the right colour. sucks either way.

This is when you want flame throwers under the sills like they do in South Africa..
Good luck with the repair. As already said a second hand door is going to be cheaper than a proper repair to the dented one mate.

It's not just painting a door though really. The colour HAS to be blended onto the rear quarter panel.
Price includes vat too so its £580 odd before the government takes their cut.
That's not a bad price.
Paint isn't £185. Material cost will be around £80. If including the bumper.
