 not a bad idea, can't see it taking off though  Things like that though I think would always be a good opportunity for some sort of charity-type involvement, regardless of the motives behind the initial idea of a meet up/drive out.

Your suggestion sounds uncannily similar to a miss banzai tunnel run Donald? (Of which, sadly RIP) :(

Yeah but a tunnel run... hardly commands the same appeal as travelling the length of the country in convoy with nice roads and sights. Plus I'm sure your average Joe that isn't a motoring fan would quite get the point in you making noise going along a straight line through an echoey tunnel.

Making assumptions here but I'm assuming the money raised by the tunnel run is by people paying to drive through it, whereas an actual proper road trip could get more people involved that aren't actually participating.

Terribly written post but I'm on the loo and on my phone. Multitasking at it's finest.

nice roads and sights? sod yer motorways and yer £700 fuel bill. I'll open the house for a night as you 'all' drive past.

I'm game for anything within an hour or two of home.

What's wrong with Lands End to John O'Groats, plenty of bikers do it, it's a regular feature, or even, the other way round?
