What about if you put commas in the needed places? Maybe it's having difficulty deciphering the address as it appears to be all one line?

Leaving the map out, The Cross hands is approx 1 1/2 mile from junction 18 of the M4 on the A46 heading North towards Stroud. I don't work that far ahead but if I am feeling OK at the time I will come either in the Lude(if its back!) or the Soarer. So I wont commit at the moment.

Last year I was in Helsinki and was waiting for a ferry to Estonia... well I could've waited all drokking day because Google had told me the wrong port, and Finnish signs are hard to read if you don't know Finnish.
