Well done on the MOT

@Macky_6, I thought there was only 1 CV boot on the N/S/F but you say boots? Maybe both the fronts are knackered, if so then honda would probably take £120 just for the cv boots which is a terrible price compared to Eurocar parts £19.50 per boot. I'm sure if you took it to a local garage you'd get the work done for significantly less than £240. Just give the garage a call and ask what they would charge. ;)

looking at the service card it says:

N/S/F inner & outer CV gaitors deteriorated

In more detail on another page it says inner gaitor deteriorated then seperately outer gaitor deteriorated?

I baulked when i saw the price and have since removed the car from Honda. I am gonna get it MOT'd at my local garage where i should have taken it in the first place :roll: :lol:

You can glue your CV boots if they are split, just to get it MOT'd. I have done this in the past, I used some black silicone to fill the cracks where it was perishing (or you can use superglue) :) MOT guy passed it...

Sorry Peachy, moved this thread to Electrical as it wasn't really a How-to or guide as such. :wink:

@macky_6there are 2 cv boots per driveshaft an inner and an outer boot - so the driveshaft will have to come out and bearings and cv cup checked for play, scoring etc and repacked with grease and new boots fitted. oem cv boots will cost a fair bit from Honda but blueprint should be same quality and half the price.

@Peachy
nice one on the mot ;)
