There was one individual black (or black / white - not 100% sure) wire that we spliced into another black & white but it was at the plugs right up behind the dash at the passenger side. Might be worth extending the single wire @c_doughty1 and connecting it to a better earth on the body. Let me know if you're struggling and I will get back over at some point.

Cheers pal, I'm going to the engine swap first, move house then do it an my new place. Decent garage and and a bug drive so convenient.
