It's been a long while since I have had to buy a non standard radio as most of my recent cars have had a sufficient technology etc
I don't want to be going into major expense for now as I might go with an upgrade in the future - for now I just want something respectable possibly double din with usb bluetooth would be handy too.
i have a head unit in the car an alpine ipod player (doesn't even play cds) I got a lend of it to tide me over, and its not holding memory which is a nightmare - constant tuning.
So anyone got a recomendation of a cheap head unit that won't look stupid in 5th gen
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

If you want to keep the "retro 90's" look then go for a single din kenwood unit. Can find a decent cheapy off ebay for around £30-£40 with aux and cd, maybe even USB. The sound quality is good and I love the noise they make when you press the butons on the unit xD
A cheap double din wouldn't make sense if it is temporary. If you're gonna buy a double din unit with those features then it may as well be something with a proper LCD screen.
