EDIT* Not sure if I was clear enough.It's highly unlikely the pin is at fault , more likey the part it mounts into is warn in the vss so spinning freely.If you get what I mean ;-P

I took my honda one apart and compared it to my new £7 from ebay and they are virtually the same.And even if it lasts half as long it's 40X cheaper so no quarms replacing it again if it goes

.

Some of the forums suggest reusing the pin from your old vss but I was more comfortable using the new one as it was machined for the oem vss

There's 3 wires for vss . Should be 12V , ground and 0-5v pulse when in motion on the signal wire .Hope that helps mate.

Quick update i have ordered up a new VSS on ebay - Honda Part no.78410-SV4-003
Should arrive in a couple of days

sweet. You should only need to remove your airbox / air intake pipe and some plugs to get to the VSS .If you haven't checked already you'll need a 10mm or 12mm socket with extension.Just look down under the engine towards the back.The VSS is mounted on top on the transmission by 2 bolts.

Unplug any nearby connectors to avoid breaking them off ;-P . Then remove the bolts.
