From memory you use the o2 sensor to adjust the fuel trim to get the optimum AFR at each part fo the rev range (13:1 I think). I'm sure I remember reading that the H22 runs rich higher up and you can trim 4-5% off the fuel mix and get a few extra horses from it. Will try and find the link to it later for you.

There aren't any other things to tune with it so pretty straight forward
excellent yes please bud :) ill also look at buying a wideband o2 sensor for a 4th gen now
struggling to find someone who sells a wideband o2 sensor for a jdm 4g lude, their not the same fitment as a dc5 by any chance?

You cant just swap a wideband (0-5v) for a narrow band (0-1v) on an ecu expecting a narrow band signal. You have to ADD it to the system (another bung welded in the exhaust) and read it off a gauge for example. If you just swap it (you wont have enough wires anyway), you risk damaging the ecu. I have a AEM wideband which performs pretty well!

As nelly has said, you'll want something like this which works independantly to the ECU which gives you a dispolay showing the AFR so you can adjust it.

ah ha kool, thanks for the reply :) i may purchase one of those and get it fitted then.

surely, a tuning company would have their own version of this to use on a rod shoved up the exhaust so they could then tune it in?

not sure if Performance Autoworks have done anything with these data systems controllers, ill have to email and ask them

Yeah, that's what they do. The reason I suggested doing it yourself was that the vtec controller doesn't give scope to adjust much beyond vtec engagement and the AFR so you don't really need a tuner for that if you have the right toys.

I'm sure PAW will be able to help you out if you wanted to pay some to do it for you tho ;)

its says on the site "The controller allows you to adjust the VTEC crossover point and at the same time, automatically adjust the fuel and timing to optimize performance" - do normal vtec controllers not do the fuel and timing for you as well?

yeh ill probably ask PAW for a hand if the tuning guy i know cant help.

thanks for your help Alex :)

I thought it was just the trim, but now you've mentioned it i think it does. Vaguely remember reding that it would adjust the fuel timing but not the ignition timing...

It's not the greatest tuning tool but for the money it's ok, I quite like it as a rev counter and throttle % monitor

my thoughts exactly!! :D do you remember where you read about it?

im really struggling to find much info on it :? even after several nights of intense googling lol

plus did you manage to find that link about the H22 running richer higher up and you can trim 4-5% off the fuel mix and get a few extra horses from it?

but not the one I read before, that was adjusted with something else but can't think what site it was.
