As far I know they are totaly diferent mate.

I remeber in past people try to fit 4th gen electric foding mrrors in to a 5th gen as they were cheeper and more avilable that 5th gen's mirror but after a some trys somebody said they are not interchangable

Yeah, they are totally different internally going by these pics

The motor might be interchangeable though

I managed to pick up a folding mirror from Ebay for £25

The advert didn't state that it was the folding type, but i noticed in the picture that there are 5 wires in the connector and the standard adjustable only mirror only has 3 wires. So the knowledge i gained by dismantling and tinkering has borne fruit

Just need to swap over the casings when it arrives
