If its the main relay, a repair is pretty easy, just take a portable soldering iron with you and a little fresh solder, you can refresh the joints and you'll be good to go.
I recall being stranded in a similarly afflicted 4th gen once, quick solder job (And on the 4ws ecu) and both faults were fixed...
