It's not impossible to get data from a non-chipped ecu, a tuning guy that lives close to me plugged his computer into my car the other day and got all sorts of stuff.

Once he'd entered the VIN, the computer knew what sort of engine it was, it ran him through a series of operations like, ign on, press brake, ign off, start engine, etc, and it was able to tell him loads of data.

He was also able to put the ecu into a mode that allowed the timing to be done, which is why he had the car after I'd changed the ecu.

He's taking the car again in a day or so to set tappets and fully tune it.

I don't know what make of computer he had, it was about the size of an iPad but thicker, with an lcd touchscreen, and a Bluetooth adaptor to connect to the blue connector in the car.

I'll find out the model and report back.

That sounds like a snapon 0bd2 tool or a proper automotive 1 I have a Delphi that does that sort of thing too there a bit advanced and don't have the friendly gui this has though

I have just been talking with the developer and he says there may be a problem with chipped ecus so when my P28 comes I'll let you know

This looks awesome .Just ordered mine.Was hoping it might work on my windows phone.
All well ... gives me the perfect excuse to build a low powered pc into my lude.Already set up a hidden 7" Monitor in my right hand speaker cover ;-P

I wonder if it will work on a Windows tablet?

I'd like to get hold of it, but I'm unclear on how to get the app. Is there a link to download/buy it?
