ok, managed to get the old chip back in but it would appear that i've drokked the ECU. Still doing the same thing.

The symptoms are;

1) It idles fine, but tries to die when you put your foot on the throttle. You can get it to rev up, but it stutters constantly & puffs white smoke.

2) It has 5 warning lights on the dash. Whether running, or just ignition on.

It is running as if it is not being controlled by the ECU at all.

Bearing this in mind, is there any chance something like a fuse may have just blown?

Yes Sir, bad times indeed.

Still, not the end of the world because I should be able to get hold of a standard jap ecu pretty easily - if JDM-BB4 still has his that he offered me about a week ago.

That would fix me up indefinitely & most importantly get me running again, as my car is now stuck at work.

It would also give me time to send the buggered ecu to bluejackhustler to see if it can't be brought back to life.

Get a message to @Bluejackhustler for sure, he was really good about sorting @vanzep out when he was in a similar pickle. Till then, even a loan P13 ecu will get you going while you work out the next step.

Deffo worth checking with @JDM-BB4 if he offered a good price too!
