5G OEM Sat-Nav system

Post by nitin_s1 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 3:45 pm

Need some help with my OEM Sat-Nav that's in my Type-S...

This is what's in my Car:

At the moment, it doesn't work. The screen does not start up so I can't use the heater controls. Auto and AC works fine through the other buttons though. I know the sat nav won't work as it was meant to be for Japan but would still would like to get the screen working.

I thought that the plugs would have been disconnected from the back but today I checked and all the plugs are still connected.. Still the screen doesn't work. :| :(

Any ideas? :wzbigcry:

The Navigation unit is also disconnected from the back, Does anyone have any pictures of where it should be fitted too?

This is the unit in the back, it's loose at the moment:

So main questions are:

Does anyone know why my screen doesn't work? Could be faulty?

Where is the unit in the boot located? Anyone got a pictures of this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Nitin

I'm sure I heard some where before that the nav unit is supposed to be under the passenger seat but I could be wrong.

The CD rom drive goes under the parcel shelf IIRC. The cables need to be connected up. Its literally plug and play. I suspect you screen wont work as its unplugged. You need to pull the console apart and remove the radio etc and see whats behind it.

I rekon it will plug and play.

I plugged in all the cables that were in the screen. 8-) But couldn't find all the cables that go in the unit near the parcel shelf. Maybe that's why it didn't work. :?

It does go under the parcel shelf but don't know where exactly.

Nitin, so only screan do not works, right?? Nothing came up on the screen?? It is look like there is no power for screen mate. Have a look for manual, and fing a wire - which colour should have a "+" 12v and check voltage. If there is voltage that mean somethng wrond is with screan, but if there is no voltage that mean the fuse may need change. Also have a look for qhole screen unite - may have own fuse.

And another thing check a ground wire aswell. ;)

Start from this simle things
ludes are ment to be driven, not wanking around on a stand like a Civic.

are you sure it was originally fitted to your car or has it been retrofitted because the wiring harness is different have you checked behind the unit there are a fair few plugs in there
