Apexi VAFC

Post by macky_6 » Thu Nov 28, 2013 6:10 pm

Hey all,

I have an Apexi VAFC controller. It was originally on an old CRX but i picked it up really cheap. Obviously it won't directly connect to my car, so what do i need to buy to make it work?

Do i keep the original connectors and just buy an OBD2-OBD0 harness? Or is there another way?

Kind regards,

Macky :D

You just need to google the instructions and get the ecu pin diagram from this site and splice the wires into the loom, it looks pretty easy to me.
236bhp and 170ft/lb stock

I have one which was used in a past but not by me. I remember I paid something around £80. Make me an offer if you like to have it.

I wanted to install it but I change my mind

Electronics are not my strong point! Wouldn't know where to start! :?

Does anyone know if the harness would work?

Any ideas where I might get one? Tried eBay, no luck

To make it plug and play you need something like this.

Getting someone to splice it in to the existing loom at the ecu would be your other option. :)

I had mixed results with these, threw codes in my ATR if it changed the vtec crossover(which is the main reason to buy one) and worked fine in my 5g

Btw, the splicing isn't too painful. IIRC it's only the vtec signal wire which actually needs to be completely cut
