Heater Control Backlight Replacement 5th Gen?

Post by mcj78 » Tue Mar 04, 2014 2:37 pm

Hi all,

Does anyone know what bulbs I can use to replace the PFKL518938 neo wedge bulbs in the heater control backlight on my 5th gen? The genuine ones are about £7 each & Lings want another £7 for postage

Not bothered about replacing them with anything colourful - just plain old stock will do fine (amber?), there are loads on ebay but not sure if I need the t3/t4/t5 & don't want to pull the controls out only to discover i've got the wrong ones - any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers!
John

You could probably buy a 2nd hand heater control and sidestep the issue?

Yeah that's what i'll probably end up doing (or just ignoring it!) - just in case anyone knew the exact type needed & I could pick them up for a couple of quid - i'll keep searching, info must be out there somewhere!

not sure if you are still looking, but the bulbs should be neo wedge T4. base 10mm height 12mm and you need 3 of them.

Are you sure the bulbs are burnt out? The pins on the board may just need to be re-soldered. My climate control flickered for a while and then went out completely. For $7 which is like.. 3 quid, I picked up a cheap soldering iron and re-did all the pins on the board. Works like a charm now.

I've got a spare control unit as I replaced mine a few weeks ago. I'll pull it to pieces later to see what the bulbs are.
Edit. Scrap that. Just noticed that someone already posted the details.
