Lude Generation

Hi folks,

I'm currently upgrading the lights on my Accord to LED bulbs and I've come a bit unstuck

Basically, my main rear lights use the same dual filament bulbs as a 4g Prelude and there is a similar 'magic box' that can tell if your bulbs have blown. I know the simplest solution is to remove this thing and lose the bulb sensing function, but I don't want to lose any functionality so I bought some error free/canbus friendly jobbies. However it has become apparent they're not error free

Sooooo... I've not measured the resistance of the bulbs yet as I'm out. But fitting both throws the lamp out error. One LED bulb and one filament bulb does not throw an error. Does anyone know if the bulb sensors in old Honda's are really twitchy, or perhaps I have duff bulbs?

Any thoughts on the matter appreciated

Our systems aren't CANBUS, so the "error free" bulbs you bought won't make any difference.

IMO I don't think anyone has found a way to keep the function with LED bulbs.

Oh right - it said they were pre-loaded so I thought that meant they had a resistor in series to fool the bulb sensor. Is that not the case?

*edit - I should probably add I know the wiring isn't canbus on my car, but I did think it all worked by some sort of ohms law calculation or something

Yep, it'll be a voltage comparator circuit I expect.
