taking the pulley off the alternator can be a bit tricky - i took mine to a garage and they used a air gun to take it off - no charge ;)

Was going to say the only way to get them off easy is air tools :?

ok, well if the pulley on my other alt is the right size i will either take them somewhere to change the pulleys, or just swap the alts back. the old one was working fine but for some reason kept the charging light on in the car.

so the pulley on the old alt is the same. im well confused now.

maybe the new belt is wrong? but that doesnt explain the belt jumping before.

can i request some pictures of peoples 4th gen alts please so i can compare the pulleys.
