ukdm el dials into preface jdm bb1.

Post by Bludge » Fri Apr 25, 2014 11:07 pm

So i bought the dials off ziayaan without really thinking about it, and after doing some reading it sounds hard and im not keen on butchering the wiring.

I have read about getting a post facelift dash loom to replace the current loom and then its pretty much plug and play, is this right? and if i do that will it also include the connector for the dimmer switch?

the ukdm loom has a white box that sits behind the dash under your clock... this controls the dash up and down....
I just took this off and it forced the dash lights bright all the time..... to wire this to the switch to turn up and down did not work and forced all lights dim only all the time.... other than that the whole thing was plug and play apart from the daylight sensor had to be wired in......

I don't think so m8 :(
only ever heard of using 2.2 ukdm facelift loom :P you will see all the connections on both sides are the same but on the passenger side footwell the facelift loom has 1 extra earth the jdm loom doesn't have. this black wire we just connected to any other black earth and as said with the box in place for dashlights every thing just goes dim and flickers.....

Wee silver box? If so, that's the inverter to power the EL tubes.
