I have got a Sony XS-L120P5H sub. Which have a peak power of 1000w and a rated power of 300w. What size amps would work. I don't want it stupid loud.

Forget the 1000w thing. That is what the sub can hadle during a quick musical peak that lasts miliseconds.

You want an amp around the 300w range.

JL audio and rockford-fosgate are good brands imho. they both provide birth certificates for each amp with its load tested output. I have never had an issue with them either. Good working amps imho.

Car audio is FULL of massive lies. everywhere, lies. Be careful.

just check your subs resistance as amp price would vary based on that. If you have 4ohmx300rms sub, get an amp of a similar wattage at this, say 4 ohms.

you could bridge most of the amps, so if you have 2 channel, it may work for your setup.

I have got my amp from ebay for about £25 8-)
